More information on the Earth Day participants:

RDOS FireSmart: Since 2004, as a result of the wildfires in 2003, RDOS FireSmart has made efforts to raise wildfire-urban interface safety awareness and advocate for mitigation. This included the creation of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan, which led to various fuel management treatments and FireSmart projects within the region.

Pitch-In: Pitch-In Canada is a national not for profit charitable environmental organization. Each year, hundreds of thousands of Canadians show their concern for the environment and their communities by participating in Pitch-In projects. These fun community events provide opportunities to properly dispose of waste, clean-up green spaces and illegal dumpsites, and rejuvenate local neighbourhoods.

RDOS WildSafeBC: This program promotes awareness and prevention of human-wildlife conflict to help keep wildlife wild and communities safe. WildSafeBC Facebook

OASSIS: The Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society (OASISS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, detection, and management of invasive species in the Okanagan-Similkameen. The role of OASISS is to encourage and facilitate agency coordination, prioritize management activities, coordinate/evaluate on-the-ground treatment, and provide public information programs for invasive species management.

Reduce, reuse, recycle: The RDOS recycling program is responsible for recycling management. The regional program is part of the province-wide RecycleBC program.
