The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) has developed a Parks, Trails, and Recreation Ten-year Plan. The plan will be used by the RDOS as a strategic guide for decisions about the acquisition, development, enhancement, and management of parks, trails, and recreation facilities and programs for the next ten years.

A thorough public engagement program was initiated in the spring and summer of 2021. At that time, input was received from the public as well as community groups, commissions, and partners throughout the region. Using the findings from the public engagement process, as well as other inputs, a draft Plan was developed and presented to the RDOS Board in July 2022. Following the submission of the draft Plan to the RDOS Board, a second engagement process occurred in September to October 2022. All findings from the second engagement have been collected and a final report was accepted by the RDOS Board on March 2, 2023.

For all individuals who participated in the engagements and surveys, thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Ten-year Plan and helping to shape the future of parks, trails and recreation in the Regional District.
