Summerland Aquatic & Fitness Centre user groups: youth swimming
The Summerland Aquatic Centre puts a priority on swimming lessons to ensure children in our community are safer around our surrounding lakes. This includes welcoming students from across Summerland and the surrounding area to participate in school-based youth swimming programs.
In 2022, the Summerland Aquatic Centre hosted 884 school swim participants, including 687 students from Summerland, 99 from Penticton, and 58 from Outma Sqilx’w. In this video, you can hear from some of the educators who are part of those programs.

Summerland Recreation Centre Referendum: Get out and vote on November 4, 2023
On November 4, 2023, eligible voters in Summerland will be asked if they’re in favour of the District borrowing up to $50 million for detailed design and construction of a new multi-purpose recreation facility, in order to replace the Summerland Aquatic & Fitness Centre, which is at end-of-life.
The District is encouraging all eligible voters to learn more about the project, reach out if they have questions ahead of the referendum, and to get out and vote on November 4th.
